Currently the age groups used to organize players and teams is defined by the calendar year. Players born between January 1-December 31 represent an age group (ex: January 1, 2014-December 31, 2014 is one age group, January 1, 2015-December 31,2015 is another, etc.).

Following the 2025-2026 soccer season, age groups will be defined by a different 12-month band, which ties more closely to the school calendar. Age groups will be organized with an August 1-July 31 calendar (ex: August 1, 2014-July 31, 2015 will be one age group, August 1, 2015-July 31, 2016 will be another, etc.).

These new age groups will take effect between March and July 2026, depending on when teams in the current age group conclude their 2025-2026 season.
